Put It Down

Day 75 of 365:

{One Word Prompt}

Drop

Oh let it go already.  I’ve had enough and do not want hear any more from you.

You keep repeating the word sorry over and over – but I ask you: Do you mean it?  Not that it matters, for I’ve already moved on.

I am done.  Can’t you see?  I am sitting here with my arms folded across my chest.  I am shaking my head.  I am rolling my eyes.

I am not interested in any thkng you have to say – but you won’t drop it.  All you want is to go around and around, folding over the issues like they are pages to be creased.

Newsflash: I let it go the moment you started your desperate tirade.

That was hours ago and now I am tired.  So very tired.

Let it go, I keep saying.  But it’s as if you don’t hear me.

Drop it.  Just put it down.  Walk away – nothing good can come of holding on.  Loosen your grip.  The damage has already been done.

From where I sit, things can’t get much worse than you have already made them.  Please.  Let. it. go.

Let me go.

Drop it.  drop

{Again, just a bit of fiction, limbering my brain up for some writing this evening.  I think most people are using this one word prompt as a noun – so I went the verb route…and illustrated it with an image that depicts Drop as a noun…..}
