Evidence of Time

Day 39 of 365:

{Weekly Photo Challenge: Time}

At the risk of sounding and being too philosophical, the question of time has been weighing heavily on my mind for the past few days.

What does time do?  What does it mean?  How do we know if it even exists?

Here is what comes to mind as I ponder this….

Time only moves forward.

You can take time.  You can make time.  You can give time.  Time can be lost.  Time can be stolen.  Once it’s gone, you can’t get time back.

You can feel time.  You can ask for time.

Time cannot be stopped…yet we think we can slow it down…

I see time.  More and more as my years advance…I see it when I look at my son.  He’s getting so big and so wise.  I wonder – where has the time gone? I see time when I look at family photographs.  Time fades and ages and wreaks havoc on your memory.  I miss the people I no longer get to spend time with.

I see time, when I look in the mirror.   Time is in the lines and creases that are slowly forming around my lips and eyes.  Time is the evidence of my years and the imprint of life on my face and body.

This is what I believe.

This is what time is to me.
