This is a first for me: late posting my photo challenge offering!
It is Saturday morning and this is the first time in 6 days I have been able to sit in front of my computer for a reason that is non-work-related . The house is giving me a few quiet, distraction-free moments. I can finally unwind from a hectic week – before I have wind back up again for a whirlwind of weekend activity.
My inspiration for
this last week’s challenge theme came to me in a flash. As I prepared a (very) late dinner on Tuesday, I paused briefly to snap a pic of what “up” meant to me at that particular moment in time. The day seemed unwilling to end. Work had me tied up, pre-occupied and under pressure. It had been one of those rare days were I actually had to make the long commute into town for meetings. Coming home late and realising that I had no clue what to make for dinner added to my personal drama.
For me, “up” was waiting for the needle on the meat thermometer to tell me the internal temperature of a chicken breast was at a comfortable level. One that meant dinner was cooked. I don’t know about you, but on days like this it is only when dinner is cooked served that my day can start melting away.
It seemed to take forever for that little gauge to travel up those numbers.
Dinner served at 8pm on a week night….love it….(not)
The rest of my week was pretty much the same. Each day dissolved into the next and before I knew it, Friday had come and gone and I had still not posted this image!
Ah well –
c’est le vie!
Have a happy weekend! 🙂
