Honourable Mention

Continuing on with those “loose ends” I mentioned wanting to tie up in yesterday’s post – I  want to take a moment and give a round of applause to a couple of re-occurring characters that have made numerous appearances on Writing The Girl over the past 12 months.

Ladies and gentlemen, let’s hear it for:

My feet.

new acquisitions...

Yes – my feet.

For some reason – and I honestly did not mean to give them this much attention – my feet have the distinction of being featured in more of my posts than almost any other subject of mine.  The exception being, of course, flowers and trees.

The question is why.  Why all the foot pics?  The funny thing is, I don’t even like my feet very much.  I think they are rather ugly because I have misshapen toes.  In fact – my second toe is longer than my big toe.  I mean…they’re just weird.

My feet are also constantly in dire need of a pedicure.

Yet – flip back through my blog archives, and there they are over and over – my ugly feet.

I suppose one could say that my feet have character and make good subjects.

You could also say that perhaps I resort to aiming my camera down because I see my feet as a source of strength – they carry me through life after all.

Of course, you could just make the assumption that I spend a lot of time sitting on my ass, therefore, my feet are always front and centre in my field of vision.

“Hmmm – I need to something to photograph.  Oh look!  There are my feet!!”  ~click~

None the less, here’s to my feet – unlikely stars of my blog:

March: I found my bare feet in the winter to be “Unusual”
In April, my shoe-clad feet paired well with a pink purse…
In July, I used my feet to express my exhaustion from house reno’s
In August, I used my bare feet to celebrate my birthday…
Accidental Photograph
In September, I didn’t mean to photograph my feet – but I did…and used them show some depth of field…
November: Soggy, rain-booted feet.
November again: Lazy feet.
December: My festive feet, chillin’ by the Christmas Tree.

It’s nice to know that if there is ever a day when I don’t have anything to blog about – my feet will always be there for me.

Thank you, feet.
