Mid-Week Brain Drain

You feel it, don’t you?  I can’t possibly be the only one.  Come on, you know what I am talking about…

The Mid-Week Brain Drain is what happens when you reach the bridge between feeling the that sense of renewal and enthusiasm from a restful Saturday and Sunday, and that deflated feeling as of the onset of Wednesday.

For me, it usually starts with a “When Does The Weekend Start?” song that I begin chanting in my head at any point from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon.  It goes like this:

“Oh, Friday, Friday…please happen soon.

Oh, weekend, weekend, I will cherish you.

Oh work-week, work-week, no offence, but I’ve had enough”.

Tonight, it will be pork chops for dinner….I have no energy to hold onto my inner culinary-goddess.  I have told her that her services will not be required this evening on account of the fact that I just can’t keep pace with the whirlwind that she is.

Instead, I shall defer to Betty Crocker and her ever reliable “Good and Easy” cookbook: Tomato sauce covered chops with noodles.

Ummm, no play-by-play photo-essay/ blog post for this meal.

My iPod is so totally in need of a good overnight charging.  I listen to it from about 9am to 3pm.  Do your ears get sore from those ear-buds?

I have been staring at my computer for so long now, my thoughts are a jumbled mess of cursors, back-slashes and http:’s.  My eyes aren’t the only things that are fuzzy.  My brain might as well be fun-fur covered throw pillow.

You know what is good about the Mid-Week Brain Drain?  It is a perfectly good excuse to veg out in front of the TV all evening.

Someone please – give me my jammies.
